Training App · Blueprint v1

GRITWorking name — we'll rename it, like Chronicle

A coach in your pocket. You plug in the race and your goals — it builds the plan, adjusts it as life happens, and keeps you honest.

Built for ultra & trail races and triathlons. For someone who'd rather outwork everyone than hire a coach — but still wants a real system holding the line.

01

The idea: it's an engine, not a PDF

Most "training plans" are a static calendar you fall off by week three. This is a loop that reacts to you — your body, your weight, your week, the race on the horizon — and reshapes itself every time you report back.

Step 1
Plug inYour race, your weight & goal, your days, your time, your history.
Step 2
It buildsA week-by-week plan across training, fuel, weight & rest — peaked for your race.
Step 3
You do & logDid it / skipped it, how it felt, today's weight, how you slept.
Step 4
It adjustsReshuffles the next days so you stay on track for race day — automatically.

Then it loops — every day, every week, all the way to the start line.

02

What you plug in

Set it once, update it whenever. Everything the engine needs to build a plan that's actually yours.

03

The four things it builds & keeps adjusting

Pillar 01

Training

The work that gets you to the finish — periodized, not random.

  • Hill repeats & vert progression
  • Fartleks, tempo & speed
  • Long runs & back-to-back weekends
  • Bricks (bike→run) for tri
  • Strength & durability
  • Taper into race week
Pillar 02

Nutrition

Fuel for the training you're doing and the weight you're chasing.

  • Daily fueling around your sessions
  • Race-day fueling dialed in ahead of time
  • Tied to your weight goal, not guessing
  • Adjusts on heavy weeks vs. rest weeks
Pillar 03

Weight

A target and a trend line — not a crash diet.

  • Log it; it watches the trend
  • Set a goal weight by race day
  • Nutrition & volume nudge to hit it
  • Flags if you're cutting too fast to train well
Pillar 04

Recovery & days off

Where the fitness actually sticks. Protected, not optional.

  • Rest days built in and defended
  • Down weeks so you don't dig a hole
  • Backs off when you're beat up
  • Sleep & fatigue feed the plan
04

How it "constantly adjusts"

This is the part you asked for. Life happens — the plan bends so the goal doesn't break.

You miss Saturday's long run
It reshuffles next week instead of just marking you "behind."
Weight's trending off your goal
It tweaks fueling and volume to steer you back — gently.
A workout felt terrible / poor sleep
It eases the next day or two so you don't dig a hole.
You crushed the week
It earns you a little more — progression, not plateau.
Race date moves or you pick a new one
The whole runway re-plans around the new start line.
05

How it holds you accountable

Not a calendar you ignore — a coach that notices.

  • Daily check-in. A quick "did you get it done?" — and it logs the streak.
  • Nudges that escalate. Miss one, it reminds; miss two, it gets in your face (the way you'd want it to).
  • Streaks & honesty. Consistency you can see — and it doesn't let you quietly lie to yourself.
  • Weekly review. What you hit, what slipped, what's next — and why it matters for race day.
  • Your "why," on hard days. The goal you set, front and center when you want to skip.

The countdown is the hook: every screen knows how many days to the start line — so nothing feels optional.

06

Built around each race

Pick a race and it builds the peak block for that race's demands — because a flat road marathon and a rocky Hill Country ultra are not the same animal.

07

The edge: real coaching, synthesized

Not a generic template off one blog. I run a research scout that goes deep on the methods of top endurance coaches — and on the specific race you picked — then I mash it into one coherent plan and tailor it to you.

08

How we'd build it

Same way Chronicle got built — real and live fast, then layered. Each phase is usable on its own.

Phase 1 · the core

Race in, adaptive plan out

Plug in your race + your inputs → a week-by-week plan that logs your work, adjusts when you miss or crush, and nudges you to stay on it. This alone is a real coach.

Phase 2 · fuel & body

Nutrition & weight engine

Weight tracking + goal, daily fueling, race-day fueling — all wired into the plan so training, eating, and weight move together.

Phase 3 · the full athlete

Triathlon, multi-race & deeper adaptation

Swim/bike/run & bricks, a calendar of races back-to-back, trends and smarter auto-adjustment the longer you use it.

09

What I need from you to start for real

Give me these and I'll build Phase 1 around a real race.

  • Race #1 & date — the one you want to point at first (Bandera? which distance?).
  • Where you are now — weekly miles/hours, longest recent run.
  • Weight + goal weight — and roughly by when.
  • Your week — training days, locked-off days, time per day.
  • Injury history — anything I should train around.
  • Nutrition style — how you eat now, what you'll fuel with.

This page is v1 — yours to mark up. Add to it, cross things out, tell me what I missed. It's your brain on paper, and it'll keep changing as you do.

GRIT — working name for your endurance-training app. Blueprint v1, drafted from your notes. Living document: it grows as you do.
